Referral to Services

This is a center-based program located in Onondaga county. Caregivers and their children are welcome to visit our Family Opportunity Center and work with a Family Peer Advocate and/or Clinician, and to network with other families in the program. Families are welcome to drop in at the centers at any time during regular hours of operation.  The Family Opportunity Centers will support families to increase resilience through the following core services:

  • Parent Education opportunities including Active Parenting, Support Groups, and a variety of informational workshops while increasing social connections.
  • Mental Health Services with an on-site clinician to address concrete mental health barriers to accessing services or participation in parent education classes.
  • Referrals to other Community Based Services such as, but not limited to: substance use care, mental health services, WIC, and/or domestic violence supports.
  • Provide and support families with Accessing Community Resources, such as food banks, SSI, daycares, housing, employment opportunities and recreational activities.
  • Support families with Accomplishing Personal Goals, such as furthering their education, and finding job or internship opportunities.
  • Support for youth and families with Success in School, where applicable
  • Family Activities offered monthly on-site or in the community.
  • Leadership Opportunities available to support with groups, family activities, participate on boards and in meetings throughout the agency.
  • Increase Protective Factors to develop a strong family by increasing parental resilience, social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, concrete support in times of need, and improving social and emotional competence of children.
  • Offer a safe and secure location for families to Come Together, Grow, and Learn.
