Neighborhood SHOPP's Caregivers Program serves Bronx Community Districts 9-12.

Neighborhood SHOPP's Caregivers Program is funded by the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA).   The program provides free services, supports, and educational workshops to caregivers living or providing care to a loved one or friend in Northern Bronx.

A wide variety of caregivers are served, including:

  • Anyone over the age of 18 providing care to a loved one over the age of 60
  • Adults over the age of 55 providing care to a disabled adult
  • Kinship caregivers

The services include:

  • Advocacy, Assistance, Information & Referrals
  • Assistance with Accessing Benefits & Entitlements
  • Counseling & Emotional Support
  • Educational Workshops (Open to the Public)
  • Private Caregiver Support Groups
  • Assistance with Funding and Purchase of Supplemental Items
  • Short-Term Respite Services
