Healthy Families Oswego County is a voluntary, evidence-based home visiting program that provides no cost services to pregnant and new parents. Our program is designed to prevent child abuse and neglect as well as promoting positive child development.

Healthy Families New York (HFNY), a Healthy Families America (HFA) accredited home visiting program, seeks to improve the health and well-being of infants and children (up to age 5) through home-based services delivered by non-profit organizations in local communities.

Services include:

  • Connect you with medical providers for prenatal/well-baby visits and immunizations.
  • Provide you with information on prenatal care, parenting, infant and child development, and child health.
  • Demonstrate activities for you to practice with your child to increase bonding and to stimulate cognitive and physical development.
  • Assess your child for developmental milestones and provide referrals for early intervention if delays are indicated.
  • Help your family access community resources and services, such as job training, ESL classes, legal services, GED preparation classes, and health care, among others.
