Services Eligibility: Westchester County residents

Provides case assistance and management, case advocacy, caregiver support groups, parenting and communication workshops, information and referral, family and youth events, parenting and communication workshops, material assistance, access to counseling and legal services. Serves all kinship caregivers in Westchester County.

Services Include:

• Case Management & Assistance
• Case Advocacy
• Caregiver Support Groups – Grandparent and Relative Caregiver Support Group Meeting (Hybrid (in person & Virtual)):
  • Presentations on parenting issues, group discussion, and peer support.
  • Takes place on the 2^nd & 4^th Friday of the Month (10:00AM-12:00PM)

• Material Assistance

  • Kinship Family Housing Preference (Yonkers municipal housing)

The Family Service Society of Yonkers Kinship Support Program now has a Kinship Family Material Assistance grant. This grant provides assistance to qualified grandparents and other relatives who are raising children without the parents in the home to obtain services and items they need for the children in their care.

Here are some of the resources which can be provided through the grant:

• Summer camp fees
• Utilities and rent assistance
• Tutoring and after school programs
• College related expenses
• Clothing
• Groceries
• Other needs
