The Kinship Care Program will provide information, advocacy, counseling, referrals, and resources to any adult who is raising someone else’s child.

This means:
• Advocacy to help kinship caregivers apply for the Non-Parent Caregiver grant, Medicaid, and childcare subsidy (if applicable) at the Department of Social Services.
• Assistance with free school meals (breakfast & lunch) and enrolling your kinship child in school.

Other services include:
• Legal advocacy with Family Court paperwork and understanding the Family Court process
• Counseling for kinship caregivers, kinship children and kinship families
• Parenting groups using the Parenting A Second Time Around curriculum
• Help line for information and referrals to available community resources
• Kinship Family Events
• Peer Support Group (for more information, contact program)
• Support groups and workshops related to kinship care topics
• Virtual Kinship Talk Time Groups (Facebook)
Support Groups alternate on opposing Wednesdays & Thursday evenings from 7:00PM-8:00PM
• The virtual meeting link will be posted on the Facebook page on the day of the support group. Please click on the link to join the meeting.
