The Virginia Kinship Resource Guide seeks to assist kinship caregivers by providing resources for financial assistance, legal guidance, and other types of issues that caregivers face when raising children in order to provide stability and support in the home.  This guide features community-based and local supports, statewide and national resources, frequently asked questions, and continuing education opportunities.

The Virginia Department of Social Services, in partnership with local departments of social services, sponsors 5 Kinship Navigator Programs, where kin caregivers may receive information, referral, education and advocacy for kinship families.
