Program Coverage Area: NJ—Statewide
Requirements for caregivers to receive services:
- Kinship caregivers are legally or biologically related to the child OR prove they are the primary caregivers of the child without custody
- the child must reside with them
- Biological parents cannot reside in the kinship caregiver’s home (unless biological parent is disabled)
- Child is not active on an open CP&P CWS/CPS/ICPC case
- Kinship caregivers caring for parenting teens are also eligible to apply for the grandchild
- Financial eligibility is based on the kinship caregiver’s family size and household income
- Children are eligible up to 18th birthday or 21 years old, if they have a documented disability
Description of Services Offered:
- Kinship Wraparound financial and case management support
- Kinship Legal Guardianship (KLG) court application assistance
- Caregiver support groups/events
- Information and Referral (including, but not limited to):
- Family Success Centers
- Behavioral health services
- Medicaid & TANF
- Educational Services
- Housing/Utility Assistance
- Board of Social Services
