Services Include:
- Childcare Assistance – We offer childcare subsidies to relatives and fictive kin caring for children placed in their home by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) when needed to support placement. Caregivers are not required to pay a co-pay for childcare, regardless of their income; however, they may incur an overage if the provider charges more than the state allotted rate. Renewal of childcare assistance can be requested every twelve (12) months as long as the family needs childcare within the age limits that apply to all children and families. Relatives and fictive kin caring for children without CHFS involvement are referred to the Division of Family Support to apply for income-based childcare.

- Relative Fictive Kin Placement Support Benefits: Relatives and fictive kin caring for children placed in their home by CHFS may be eligible to receive a one-time monetary benefit that is based on each child’s immediate needs upon placement, such as furniture, a deposit for a larger apartment, clothing, school supplies, etc.
