LSSNY Kinship Care Program serves children and teenagers living in formal and informal kinship settings (with relative or fictive
caregivers) residing in the borough of Queens and offers in-home case management, advocacy, and casework counseling. The program links
families to community resources and helps clients maneuver systems such as public assistance, Medicaid, family court and schools.

Area Served: Southeast Queens, Jamaica, New York  G.E.A.R. is a support group made up of grandparents or relatives who are parenting the second time around. The support group offers rescipe services through educational resources including workshops, trips and opportunities to attend empowment classes. Meetings provide attendees the opportity to share experiences and make new friends.  It is hoped that all will realize that they are not alone and the group is there to help.
