Tioga County Neighbors Helping Neighbors
www.rhnscny.org

We are a coalition of community-based organizations and volunteers serving Tioga County and neighboring communities. We work together to enhance the lives and well-being of our neighbors, particularly aging, disabled, homebound, and isolated residents, by providing access to needed services through informal caregiving assistance. We seek to support and expand services throughout Tioga County with the intent of helping all residents live high quality lives and remain independent in their homes as long as possible.
In 2012, 140 Tioga County Neighbors Helping Neighbors volunteers provided 3,000 hours of service to 160 of their neighbors, driving over 26,700 miles.
Trained Neighbors Helping Neighbors network volunteers provide the following informal caregiving services at no cost to their neighbors:
o Transportation for medical and health-related appointments, grocery shopping, picking up supplies at the pharmacy, social events, and more
o Information and Referral Services
o Friendly phone calls and visits
