Provides counseling, support group for caregivers, school advocacy, information and referral, along with a range of support services for kinship caregivers and their families.

The Grandparents / Relatives Raising Children Support Group is an open support group for any person raising a relative’s child. It meets every third Friday at noon at the above address. The group is a place to share and reflect on challenges and triumphs amongst your peers. The group is free to attend.

Since 1996, the Rural Law Center of New York (RLCNY) has been providing free civil legal services to low-income individuals and families statewide. The Rural Law Center’s legal staff is available to assist kinship caregivers from most upstate New York counties. Family members are welcome to contact our offices with any questions you may have regarding custody, visitation and other Family Court matters.  Our staff will provide legal advice and can assist you with the preparation of custody petitions and other common issues. Our services are made possible primarily with financial support from NYS Judiciary Civil Legal Services and the IOLA Fund of the State of New York.  The RLCNY serves every upstate county in New York except: Erie, Niagara, Monroe, Onondaga, Oneida, Broome, Albany, Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, and Westchester. We do not serve NYC or Long Island.

Early Intervention Program 845-364-2032 A mandated program that provides service coordination, and therapeutic and educational services for children with disabilities from birth to three years of age and their families. Services are provided at no cost to families.

WIC: Nutrition Assistance Program for Women, Infants and Children 845-364-2577 WIC Sites in Rockland are located in Spring Valley, Monsey, New Square, Haverstraw, and Nyack. WIC is a federal program for participants who qualify (based on financial and medical or nutritional need). This program serves women who are pregnant, mothers of babies up to six months old, breastfeeding mothers of children up to 12 months old, and children under the age of five. Checks are issued to purchase supplemental nutritious foods, such as milk, cheese, eggs, cereal, juice, fruits, and vegetables.
